Busch dominated Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Dover
International Speedway, leading 157 of 207 laps and claiming his 8th
victory of the season.
Starting from the pole in the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 Toyota, Busch won the Camping World RV Sales 200 in overtime after Landon Cassill and Steve Wallace collided on Lap 199 to bring out the seventh and final caution.
“It was a great effort by this whole team,” Busch said. “It was a pretty flawless day. Just a phenomenal racecar, and a lot of fun to drive.” Hear what else Busch had to say in his post-race interview.
Mike Bliss was second, .866 seconds behind the winner. Brad Keselowski finished third, followed by Scott Wimmer and Carl Edwards. Denny Hamlin, Jason Leffler, Jamie McMurray, David Ragan and series leader Clint Bowyer completed the top 10.
Bowyer’s lead in the NASCAR Nationwide championship took a hit after he collided with Edwards, last year’s series champion and his closest pursuer this year. Edwards gained 21 points on Bowyer, but remains 186 points behind with six events remaining.
The series turns next to Kansas Speedway for the Kansas Lottery 300 on Sept. 27.
