Kyle Busch drove his No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to victory in Friday night’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race, edging Jeff Burton by .662 seconds for his 9th win of the season.

Averaging 183.599 miles per hour, Busch led 137 of 200 laps in the rain-delayed Dollar General 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, a 1.5-mile track in Concord, N.C.

“We’ve had a lot of phenomenal race cars this year,” Busch said. “It’s just been one of those phenomenal seasons for us here on the Nationwide side. You’ve just got to enjoy it while you can.” Hear what else Busch had to say in his post-race interview.

Busch’s series-leading 9th victory did not displace Clint Bowyer from his spot as series points leader, 196 points ahead of Carl Edwards. Bowyer finished fourth and Edwards fifth in Friday’s race. Former series champion Brian Vickers finished third in a backup car after crashing in qualifying earlier Friday.

The race lasted four hours because of rain, a spectacular accident involving four drivers and 13 caution flags.

With four races to go in the season, the next one’s scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25 at Memphis Motorsports Park.
