Feeding America

Nationwide and its associates have supported Feeding America food banks with food drives and volunteer support for many years. The Nationwide Insurance Foundation funded Feeding America for the first time in 2009 in support of Nationwide associates' efforts. The foundation's gift to Feeding America was shared with 15 food banks in communities where Nationwide associates live and work.

In 2010, Feeding America awarded Nationwide Insurance the Group Volunteer Service of the Year award for our work with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.

In Columbus, Ohio, Nationwide employees donate 30% of the Mid-Ohio Foodbank's Operation Feed campaign and count for 25% of its volunteers.

"Never before have we seen so many people needing emergency food assistance," said Vicki Escarra, CEO of Feeding America. "We are deeply grateful for Nationwide Insurance Foundation's financial support and Nationwide employees' volunteerism and donations that help us provide hunger relief."
