Lydia M. Marshall was the founder, chair and chief executive officer of Versura, Inc., of Washington, D.C., the education loan exchange, serving in those capacities from 1999 to 2004.
Marshall was elected to the Nationwide board in 2001.
Marshall is a director of Seagate Technology and chairs Seagate’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. She is a chair of the board of the Public Welfare Foundation. She was previously the chair of the board of CARE International and also served as chair of CARE USA.
She served as managing director of Rockport Capital, Inc., from 1997 to 1999. Marshall was executive vice president of Sallie Mae and headed various divisions from 1985 to 1997. She was a vice president of Citicorp from 1977 to 1985.
