Names Are Made in the NASCAR Nationwide Series
The 2012 season was full of unpredictability and drama, making for action-packed storylines and increased television ratings. This was the result of dedicated teams delivering competitive NASCAR Nationwide SeriesTM cars to the track for 33 races, mentors developing young talent, and gallant efforts by NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers on the track and in the community. That’s why Nationwide Insurance® is proud to be entering its sixth season as the title sponsor.
This year Nationwide Insurance will continue to engage fans and convert others to the sport through promotional activities. For pony-car enthusiasts, the company added a third show car featuring the new NASCAR Nationwide Series Camaro, to travel across the country for NASCAR promotional events. Tremendous emphasis also will be placed on supporting the NASCAR Nationwide Series “Dash 4 Cash” events. Increasing the payout to $100,000 and running the program four consecutive weeks starting in the July Daytona race have generated great interest by the fans and intense competition with teams and drivers.
A new chapter unfolds for the NASCAR Nationwide Series with the addition of Mid-Ohio Sports Course to the schedule. The road-course is located about an hour away from Nationwide Insurance headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. The company will expand its support in the motorsports community by sponsoring the race on behalf of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The goal is to raise more than $2.5 million from sports sponsorships in 2013 to help provide health care for children in need.
