Working with Nationwide's Supply Management Services

Supply Management Services (SMS) develops supplier solutions to meet business unit requirements for all purchased products and services, negotiates and implements contracts, and manages suppliers to contract with our internal clients. The Supplier Diversity Office supports Supply Management Services to ensure a diverse supplier base is available during the bid process.

How do we identify a supplier?

Suppliers will be selected as part of the Supply Management Services (SMS) sourcing process consistent with the sourcing strategy in place for that commodity. All suppliers will be evaluated against the same requirements. Quality or service standards will never be compromised with the selection of a supplier.

Opportunities for diverse suppliers in 2008

During 2008, we will be focusing our sourcing efforts in the areas of Legal, Marketing, and Construction and Maintenance. As for the other commodity categories, limited sourcing will be conducted and at this time SMS is not planning on additions to the vendor base.

Opportunities are based on demand. SMS evaluates each request independently and will initiate contact when potential opportunities arise.
