Safety and Risk Management
Each year, more than 6,000 employees die from workplace injuries in the United States, while another 50,000 die from illnesses caused by exposure to hazards at work. Six million more workers suffer non-fatal workplace injuries at an annual cost to U.S. businesses of more than $125 billion.*
Some see accidents as a cost of doing business. We at Nationwide® Agribusiness believe that successful companies view safety measures as an opportunity to protect workers’ health, increase productivity, improve morale, enhance product quality and boost profits.
Workplace safety and health standards help you, as an employer, establish and maintain an environment that minimizes serious hazards. A few of your responsibilities include working conditions, providing employees with safe tools and equipment, properly maintaining that equipment, and keeping records of work-related injuries and illnesses. We are committed to helping you accomplish your safety and health goals.
Our expertise benefits you
Nationwide Agribusiness’ risk management services staff is a group of highly experienced safety professionals who have spent an average of 15 years in agribusiness and safety fields. Many of them hold professional designations, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM). Most have bachelors or masters degrees in agricultural fields, industrial safety or occupational health.
We measure success quantitatively – by reduction in accident frequency and severity, decreased direct and indirect costs of losses, and increased customer satisfaction. Your designated risk management consultant will work personally with you and your agent to help implement plans that promote safety and keep your employees more productive.
Consider Nationwide Agribusiness your partner. We can offer beneficial resources and services valuable to your management team based on the risk management program we develop with you and your agent, which may include industrial hygiene evaluations, job safety analysis, engineering guidance, safety training and consulting programs, loss history and on-site reviews, and other risk reduction opportunities. Ultimately we want to provide materials and ideas that will enable you to add the most value to your company to help impact job safety and health.
