The Best of America Elite Venue Annuity is a deferred variable annuity. Variable annuities are long-term investment vehicles designed to help with retirement planning. They are contracts issued by a life insurance company that provide a variable rate of return based on the performance of underlying investment options.
Elite Venue has a four-year contingent deferred sales charge schedule — so your investments are available for withdrawal without a penalty after four years. Elite Venue also offers a premium credit, which means that we add money to your account if you make investments of at least $500,000.
Withdrawals of taxable amounts will be subject to ordinary income tax and, if taken prior to age 59½, may be subject to an additional 10% IRS tax penalty. Naturally, if you do take an early withdrawal, your death benefit and cash value will be reduced.
