Catastrophes

Finding Insurance That Fits

One of the easiest ways to prepare your home and family for a disaster is to have the correct insurance for your needs. Even if you prepare for a catastrophe well in advance, you still could suffer damage to your property and, if you're covered, your insurance can be a big help in replacing these treasured items.

Taking the time now to prepare for the future can only decrease the time it takes for your life and family to return to normal. Talk to your agent about these items today:

  • If you have adequate insurance if something were to happen to you, your family or your property

  • If your policies are up-to-date

  • Deductibles and how your insurance coverage works

  • Extra insurance for items not normally fully covered under normal insurance policies such as cameras, musical instruments, computers, jewelry, artwork and furs

  • Flood insurance

  • If your home is structurally sound for the area you live in

  • Having your home reappraised to make sure your insurance coverage is correct

  • Making sure any new additions to your home such as basements are covered under your policies

  • If you rent, the depth of your policy and what happens if a disaster does hit
