Use Job Safety Analysis to Help Keep Your Employees Safe

Worker injuries -whether a broken arm resulting from a slip and fall, or a back injury caused by repetitive lifting- can cost your business. These costs can be direct (such as a higher workers' compensation premium or medical expenses) or indirect (such as increased absenteeism and turnover).

To help minimize harm to your employees and prevent declines in productivity, we offer a job safety analysis as a possible part of your risk management plan. By identifying the steps of each individual job, we can point out any hazards and provide suggestions to reduce or eliminate those risks.

Identify risk factors in your workplace

Ergonomics is the science of matching job demands and conditions to your employees’ capabilities. By assessing work-related activities, we can evaluate whether the work might lead to physical ailments, such as musculoskeletal damage.

Risks are common in jobs requiring repetitive, forceful or continuous use of the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, legs and back; frequent or heavy lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying; and prolonged awkward postures. Vibration and cold may complicate potential problems.

Implement an effective program

Our ergonomic job safety analysis may include a sample written program that includes tips for establishing an effective program, such as:

  • Defining better workplace policies and procedures
  • Redesigning the workplace
  • Recommending new equipment to help reduce and control hazards
  • Providing education and training for employees
  • Developing plans to help injured employees and facilitate their return to work
  • Documenting risks and corrections

We are committed to helping you improve the well-being of employees by identifying and correcting risk factors. An effective and successful program can help boost productivity, avoid illness and injury risks and increase satisfaction among your workforce.
