Nationwide Financial Services (NFS), based in Columbus, Ohio, is part of the Nationwide group of companies, which offers diversified insurance and financial services. The group is led by Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, which is ranked No. 108 on the Fortune 500 based on 2007 revenue.
NFS is a leading provider of long-term savings and retirement products in the United States. The Company develops and sells a diverse range of products including individual annuities, private and public sector group retirement plans, other investment products sold to institutions, life insurance and investment advisory services. The Company also provides a wide range of banking products and services through Nationwide Bank and mutual funds through Nationwide Funds Group (NFG).
NFS sells its products through a diverse distribution network. That network includes unaffiliated entities that sell the Company's products to their own customer bases, such as independent broker/dealers, financial institutions, wirehouse and regional firms, pension plan administrators, and life insurance specialists.
Representatives of NFS that market products directly to a customer base include Nationwide Retirement Solutions, Inc. (NRS) and The Nationwide Financial Network (NFN). NFS also distributes retirement savings products through the agency distribution force of its parent company, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company.
