Tax time cometh. Are you prepared?

April 15 – Last call for IRA contributions

As the holidays fade from memory – except for the credit card bills, of course – another big season is right around the corner: Tax time!

The April 15 deadline for filing your 2008 tax return will be here sooner than you think.

But there’s still time to give yourself a gift of a deduction.

You have until April 15 to contribute to your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) -- generally up to $5,000 (or $6,000 if you’re age 50 or older). The move may not only lower your tax bill, but you’ll be adding to your retirement savings with tax-deferred money.
