You must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. resident and have a valid driver’s license or state or military ID to open a money market account.

Here’s what you’ll need to begin: 

  • Current address (and your previous one if you’ve lived at your current residence for less than five years)
  • Social Security number for each applicant
  • E-mail address
  • Valid driver's license, state or military ID for each applicant
  • Routing and account number of your external account if you are funding your account from another bank
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or higher, or Safari
  • $1,000 minimum opening balance
