Nationwide New HeightsSM (New Heights) is a single purchase payment, deferred fixed indexed annuity with features that allow you to accumulate retirement savings and help protect your money.
What is a fixed indexed annuity?
A fixed indexed annuity offers returns based on the changes in a securities index, such as the S&P 500® Composite Stock Price Index. Indexed annuity contracts also offer a specified minimum which the contract value will not fall below, regardless of index performance. After a period of time, the insurance company will make payments to you under the terms of your contract.
With uncapped earning potential, daily tracking and crediting of interest, a return of principal guarantee, an optional lifetime income rider and an optional enhanced death benefit rider (both available for an additional cost) and a return of principal guarantee, New Heights is where reliability meets opportunity. It offers the ability to help protect assets while also providing 365 opportunities every year to take advantage of positive index performance.
New Heights offers three main potential benefits: principal and interest rate guarantees, minimal risk exposure, and potential tax advantages.
Principal and interest rate guarantees
Your principal is protected and interest gains are credited systematically. A downturn in the index won’t reduce your contract value; however, you’ll be assessed a contingent deferred sales charge (CDSC) if you withdraw assets during the surrender charge period.1
The surrender value of your contract could be less than your initial investment in the contract, but some fixed indexed annuities offer a specified minimum value that the surrender value will not fall below.
Minimal risk exposure
New Heights has the potential to increase in value based on changes in an index and also based on a set interest rate. This gives you the opportunity to accumulate funds for retirement without exposing your hard-earned money to market risk.
Potential tax advantages
New Heights may offer 100% tax deferral, so all your earnings may grow tax-deferred.
