San Antonio, TX — Nationwide Insurance and the San Antonio Spurs announced a new partnership today. The new Nationwide sponsorship, which will make Nationwide a regular part of Spurs home games this season, comes on the heels of a separate previous announcement that Nationwide plans to add 800 new jobs and build a new corporate facility in San Antonio.
One element of the sponsorship will provide Spurs fans with a chance to be a “Super Fan” for a game by registering for the World’s Greatest Super Fan in the World sweepstakes. A winning ‘Super Fan’ will be selected for each game to join the Spurs on the court during warm-ups and hi-five them during team introductions. Super Fans will be given four lower level game tickets, a souvenir T-shirt and have their picture featured on the Lighthouse during the game and later posted on Spurs.com. No purchase is necessary to participate.
“Through our partnership with Nationwide Insurance we are able to enhance the Spurs experience for our fans,” said Lawrence Payne, executive vice president of corporate partnerships and broadcasting. “The Super Fan promotion is a great opportunity to give back to our passionate fans and community.”
The San Antonio Spurs partnership gives Nationwide Insurance a platform that aligns with its goals of enhancing its presence in the San Antonio community. Nationwide hopes to raise awareness through the live interactions with Spurs fans by enhancing their overall experience on game day.
