Columbus, Ohio — The Nationwide Insurance Foundation announced today that it will donate $50,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which helps to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to victims of disasters like the Georgia Floods. The American Red Cross is providing aid to Georgia residents and communities as they recover from recent storms which caused devastating flooding last week.

“Our hearts go out to the victims of this disaster as they work to rebuild their lives and communities in the wake of the recent severe weather,” said Terrance Williams, regional vice president of southern states for Nationwide Insurance. “We have confidence that our longtime partner, American Red Cross will make the most of these funds to provide assistance to the communities hardest hit by last week’s storms.”

Previously this year, the Nationwide Insurance Foundation donated $1.7 million to the American Red Cross to support national and local preparedness and response initiatives across the country and to fund three new blood collection vehicles.

Nationwide customers with insurance claims should contact their agent or call 1-800-421-3535.

The Nationwide Insurance Foundation is an independent corporation funded by contributions from Nationwide companies, including Nationwide Insurance. Founded in 1959, the Nationwide Insurance Foundation has committed more than $190 million since 2000 to help nonprofit organizations in communities where Nationwide associates and their families live and work. Just as Nationwide supports its customers in their moment of need, the company’s involvement in its home communities is focused on supporting organizations that help people facing critical or immediate need.
