Gale V. King

Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Nationwide
Gale King is Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Nationwide. She was elected to this position in 2009.
In this role, Gale is responsible for developing the company’s human resources strategy and the full range of tools, policies and programs to enable business leaders and 34,000 associates throughout the United States to create exceptional On Your Side experiences for customers. These services include talent management, compensation, performance management, associate and leadership development, organizational effectiveness, change management and diversity and inclusion.
Gale began her insurance career as a claims representative and later served in numerous human resources leadership roles. She became Vice President – Nationwide Insurance Human Resources in 1999 and Senior Vice President-Human Resources for the Property & Casualty organization in 2005.
She is active in the community and currently serves on the boards of the Columbus Urban League, Adventures for Wish Kids and Franklin County Children’s Services. She is also a member of two national organizations, the Executive Leadership Council and Insurance Conference Group.
Gale graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in public administration.
