COLUMBUS, Ohio-- Nationwide Financial today announced that William S. Jackson, senior vice president for Retirement Plans, will retire at year-end after 25 years with the company. Nationwide will immediately begin a search for his successor.
"We’re losing a great leader. Bill’s contributions to our organization are immeasurable, and we’re fortunate to have had his leadership, strategic vision and commitment to improving the customer experience" said Mark R. Thresher, president and COO of Nationwide Financial.
Jackson, 56, has served as senior vice president of retirement plans since 2006. He began his Nationwide career as a financial planning analyst in 1984 and became a portfolio account supervisor later that year. In 1997, he was named a director in non-affiliated sales, and was promoted to sales center officer in 1999. Jackson was elected vice president in 2001, and until 2006, led the internal sales and service organization.
“Jackson’s accomplishments at Nationwide include building a successful integrated sales and service center, and most recently, aligning both our public- and private-sector retirement plan businesses into one organization,” Thresher said. “I am deeply appreciative of his many contributions and more than two decades of service.”
Reflecting on his time at Nationwide, Jackson said, "I’m grateful to have had such a long and rewarding career. I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful people and truly believe we are in a great business where we can feel good about the work we do each day to help Americans save for and live in retirement."
