Michael D. Miller

President and Chief Operating Officer, Scottsdale Insurance
Mike Miller is President and Chief Operating Officer of Scottsdale Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Nationwide that provides excess and surplus property and casualty insurance. He was elected to this position in 2005.
Mike has worked in insurance for 32 years, including 24 years at Nationwide. He previously served as Scottsdale's Executive Vice President of Operations and Administration. He joined Scottsdale in 1995 as Vice President for Finance and Treasurer. He also spent three years as Senior Vice President for Finance with Nationwide’s Property and Casualty businesses.
Mike is on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Managing General Agents, and an active member of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices. Deeply committed to corporate citizenship, Mike serves on the boards of the Grand Canyon Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Valley of the Sun United Way, and the Scottsdale Cultural Council.
Mike earned a bachelor's degree in accounting & business administration from Defiance College and an MBA from Indiana University. His insurance designations include the CPCU, CLU, ASLI, ChFc, ARe and FLMI.
