Columbus, Ohio — The 2009 Ohio Diversity and Leadership Conference announced recently that Gale King, executive vice president and chief human resources officer for Nationwide; and Kathy Mabe, president and chief operating officer of Titan Insurance and division president of specialty products for Nationwide were recognized by the organization and listed among the most powerful and influential women in Ohio.

King and Mabe were both recognized for their ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion and for advancing diversity best practices in their leadership roles at Nationwide. About Gale King
Gale King became Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Nationwide in 2009. In this role, King is responsible for developing the company’s human resources strategy and the full range of tools, policies and programs to enable business leaders and 34,000 associates throughout the United States to create exceptional On Your Side experiences for customers. These services include talent management, compensation, performance management, associate and leadership development, organizational effectiveness, change management and diversity and inclusion. King began her insurance career as a claims representative and later served in numerous human resources leadership roles.
She is active in the community and currently serves on the boards of the Columbus Urban League, Adventures for Wish Kids and Franklin County Children’s Services. She is also a member of two national organizations, the Executive Leadership Council and Insurance Conference Group. King graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in public administration.
About Kathy Mabe
Kathy Mabe became President and Chief Operating Officer of Titan Insurance and division president of Specialty Products for Nationwide in 2008. She has held many key roles within Nationwide including President of Nationwide Insurance Western Operations, Chief Marketing Officer for Nationwide Insurance, Vice President of Auto Product and Pricing, and Vice President of Commercial Insurance Operations. Her early career included various positions with the commercial underwriting operations.
Mabe serves on the boards of the Columbus Museum of Art, and the Columbus YWCA. She is a member of the Women Presidents Organization. She is active in the YWCA Family Center for the homeless and serves as a mentor for many women at Nationwide and in the Columbus community. She received the Distinguished Alumni Award for Community Service from The Ohio State University. Mabe received her bachelor of arts and MBA degrees from The Ohio State University.
