COLUMBUS, Ohio — To help contribute to the solutions, training and educational resources available to today’s investment professionals, Nationwide Financial Services, Inc. (NYSE: NFS), has signed on as National Sponsor of the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®), the leadership and advocacy organization representing the financial planning community.
“As a financial services company that’s committed to supporting investment professionals and the value of financial planning, this partnership makes great sense for us,” said Mark Thresher, president and chief operating officer of Nationwide Financial Services. “This is an opportunity for us to help FPA with its professional development efforts for members and in educating the public about the importance of financial planning.”
As part of the sponsorship, Nationwide will participate in FPA educational offerings to members through online sessions, editorial placements and speaking engagements, be granted extensive exposure at all FPA national conferences, and receive marketing opportunities in FPA print and online publications.
Nationwide Financial has partnered with FPA before. For the past two years the company was the exclusive sponsor of FPA’s Virtual Learning Center, a Web site that enables financial planning professionals the opportunity to build expertise and acquire skills to help them better manage their businesses.
“We look forward to building upon our relationship with FPA and its members to gain additional insight that will contribute to our commitment to simpler solutions for those in the profession,” said John Carter, president of Nationwide Financial Distributors, Inc., the sales arm of Nationwide Financial Services.
“Nationwide Financial has proven its commitment to cultivating the body of knowledge in personal financial planning through their sponsorship of the Virtual Learning Center,” said Marvin W. Tuttle, Jr., CAE, executive director/CEO of FPA. “We’re thrilled that they have expanded their involvement on the national level and are dedicating themselves to supporting and advancing the profession.”
