Nationwide elects Chief Investment Officer

Gail Snyder brings high performance focus

Columbus, Ohio— Nationwide is pleased to announce the election of Gail Snyder as Chief Investment Officer. Snyder will oversee the Office of Investments (OOI) and will play a key role in the continued success of Nationwide’s Finance and Investment organization.

“Gail’s leadership and focus will be invaluable in moving OOI to the next level toward our vision of a high performing investment organization,” said Bob Rosholt, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Nationwide. “She brings a proven track record of developing strategy and delivering investment performance along with outstanding leadership capabilities.”

As CIO, Snyder is responsible for managing over $75 billion of assets for Nationwide’s Life and Mutual Companies, and provides oversight for Nationwide’s Pension and 401K assets.

Snyder joined Nationwide in January 2005 after eight years with GE. She has over 24 years of investment experience, with 19 years in the insurance industry. Snyder’s career spans portfolio management, asset liability management, and as chief investment officer.

Snyder received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. She is a member of both the Columbus Society of Security Analysts and the CFA Institute. Snyder also serves on a senior investment board of the American Council of Life Insurers.
