COLUMBUS, Ohio — Due to strong demand from investment professionals, Nationwide Financial Services, Inc. (NYSE: NFS) recently kicked-off a second wave of Income Decision seminars for independent broker-dealers looking for ways to assist in their client’s accumulation-to-distribution needs.
“The response from our first round of seminars was fantastic,” said John Carter, president of Nationwide Financial Distributors, Inc. “These seminars educate investment professionals on how to take a holistic approach to address the critical retirement income planning needs of their clients.”
Nationwide Financial’s first round of Income Decision seminars included 100 meetings over a 10-week period between January and March. Carter said the meetings exceeded their attendance goals and helped convince them a second round was necessary. More than 70 Income Decision II seminars are being held over six weeks.
Carter said that the Income Decision II sessions consist of smaller groups than the previous meetings to allow for more interaction, and include additional case studies to help demonstrate how different income planning solutions might apply based on a person’s situation.
“Income planning isn’t a one-size-fits-all product, it’s a strategy,” said Carter. “These sessions show investment professionals how to provide customized income planning solutions for clients based on individual needs and goals.”
In addition to review and discussion around case studies, the seminars consist of an overview of distribution planning risks, including longevity, inflation and investments, and a review of the type of products available in the marketplace to address those risks.
Representatives from Nationwide Financial’s fund partners, including AIM Investments, American Century, Dreyfus, Federated, Fidelity, Franklin Templeton, MFS, T. Rowe Price and Van Kampen, also participate at various seminars on the schedule.
Investment professionals attending Income Decision meetings earn continuing education (CE) credit or receive an online certificate, where applicable.
