Columbus, Ohio Nationwide Property Protection Services, L.L.C. and Lawrence, Kan.-based Protection One® have partnered to offer a home security system that offers more protection for less money than most security providers’ basic systems.

The exclusive, co-branded, home security package, marketed as a Nationwide Property Protection ServicesSM home security system from Protection One, is being offered to customers, agents, and associates of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and its affiliates in Ohio, as part of the trial relationship. Sales, installation, service and monitoring are provided by Protection One (OTCBB: PONN). The system has a low installation cost as well as a low monthly monitoring fee. It also includes smoke and water protection, features that are generally priced as extras by other major security companies.

"We know that security and overall property protection are important concerns for homeowners,” said Jay Beighley, President, Nationwide Property Protection ServicesSM. “This offering not only helps keep Nationwide customers’ homes and families secure. It also allows them to receive up to a 12 percent discount on their Nationwide homeowners insurance. We are pleased to offer this additional product and service.”

John Pumpelly, Protection One’s senior vice president of alliance relationships, said, “We believe the value available to Nationwide policyholders through this partnership is great and adds to the numerous quality services already offered by their insurance provider. Including security – at a discounted cost - in these services helps assure their customers’ homes and lives are further protected from smoke, fire and water emergencies.

“In addition, if a Nationwide customer has an eligible smoke, water or burglary loss while we are monitoring their home, we’ll pay their insurance deductible up to $1,000,” Pumpelly said.

“This is an exciting relationship and represents the natural convergence of property protection services and insurance for homeowners.”
