Newton, Iowa — Nationwide Insurance Special Investigation Unit is
partnering with the Iowa State Patrol, National Insurance Crime Bureau
(NICB) and Safelite Auto Glass to educate the community about theft and
safety awareness. The event, held in conjunction with the SSCA Jetta TDI
and USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series races, will feature free vehicle
identification number (VIN) etching, distribution of DNA kits for
families with children, and insurance theft awareness handouts. There
will also be numerous Allied, Nationwide and NASCAR Nationwide Series
giveaways. We have also partnered with the Richard Petty Driving
Experience to raffle off a driving experience ride certificate with all
proceeds going to the local United Way.
VIN etching is available to the public for personal vehicles. VIN etching may deter auto thefts because it discourages thieves. This $200 service is free.
