About the Nationwide Foundation
The Nationwide Foundation is an independent corporation funded by Nationwide Companies to help positively impact the quality of life in communities where our associates, agents and their families live and work.
Established in 1959, the Foundation has awarded more than $169 million since 2000 to qualified nonprofit organizations that work to meet crucial needs in communities with large Nationwide associate populations.
The Nationwide Foundation is dedicated to making strategic philanthropic investments to meet the most critical needs in communities. The Foundation also helps associates, agents and retirees maximize the impact of their personal gift by matching contributions to our annual giving campaign to benefit United Way and accredited higher education institutions dollar for dollar.
In 2006, the Foundation pledged the largest gift in its history, granting $50 million to Columbus Children’s Hospital. The Nationwide Foundation is committed to being there for people and communities when they need us most – just as it has since 1959.
