Series Info: About the NASCAR Nationwide Series

Share with a Friend

Like NASCAR, Nationwide Insurance® traces its roots to rural America and automobiles. That's why Nationwide is proud to be the title sponsor of the NASCAR Nationwide SeriesTM. The Nationwide Series is NASCAR's second most popular racing series, enjoying the support of 75 million fans, including 2.7 million who annually attend NASCAR Nationwide Series races.

With year two of the NASCAR Nationwide Series upon us, Nationwide is committed to providing fresh ideas, energy and resources to make the NASCAR Nationwide Series the best motorsports series possible. The 2009 season features an exciting combination of talented young drivers, seasoned veterans and high-profile superstars in a 35-race battle for the championship that includes a stop in Canada. And the addition of Kyle Busch as a full-time Nationwide Series driver should make for some fierce competition with Carl Edwards and the rest of the field.

NASCAR's Nationwide Series drivers will also have the opportunity to earn some extra money this year with Nationwide Insurance's introduction of "Dash 4 Cash". With the new program, eligible drivers who win Nationwide Series races in Nashville (April), Kentucky, Iowa or Memphis will receive a $25,000 bonus. And the eligible driver with the most combined points for all four races will receive an additional $50,000.

We're also thrilled about the addition of a new track to the schedule. The Rusty Wallace-designed Iowa Speedway will hold its inaugural Nationwide Series race on August 1, 2009.

So let's get ready for some exciting racing! We hope you will join us at the track and on ABC and ESPN2 for the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series.
