A teen who drinks and drives is a dangerous combination of an inexperienced driver and an inexperienced drinker.
Teens have a very high risk of crashing while sober. Using alcohol or drugs increases that danger significantly. Worse, when a teen drinks and drives, risks increase substantially for everyone around the teen driver – both inside and outside their vehicles. That’s why all 50 states have zero tolerance laws for underage drinking and driving.
Parents need to talk to their teens, set clear expectations with consequences and be good role models. Drinking and driving just don’t mix.
