Nationwide Financial appoints Joseph Sprague to lead Nationwide Business Solutions Group
Columbus, Ohio - Nationwide Financial today announced that Joseph Sprague will lead the company’s corporate life insurance business, Nationwide Business Solutions Group. Nationwide Financial is the leading provider of corporate life insurance in the country.1 Sprague previously served as vice president of relationship strategies for Nationwide Financial’s sales and distribution organization.

He replaces April VanDervort who is now supporting Nationwide Financial’s individual annuity and life insurance businesses. Sprague rejoined Nationwide Financial in 2006 and has been responsible for building relationships with banks, independent broker-dealers, regional firms and wirehouses to distribute private-sector retirement plans, life insurance, annuities and mutual funds.
Sprague has extensive financial services experience in sales, relationship management, distribution alignment and business development. Sprague was vice president and director of national accounts for AIM Investment Management Group (AIM). Prior to joining AIM, Sprague spent 13 years at Nationwide Financial working in sales.
He is actively involved in industry groups, including the Money Management Institute and American Council of Life Insurers. Sprague earned his undergraduate degree from Earlham College, and maintains the Chartered Life Underwriter and Charted Financial Consultant designations. Sprague also serves on the board for the Homeless Families Foundation.
