Nationwide Implements Minimum Pay Rate of $15 Per Hour

September 09, 2015

New pay increase supports company’s people-first culture and promotes associate retention and career growth

Columbus, OH - Nationwide today announced it will raise its minimum pay rate to $15 per hour over the next nine months. This change impacts approximately 900 current associates across 25 locations for jobs in call centers, field and staff office positions.

“Nationwide's core values are all about people," said Gale King, chief administrative officer for Nationwide. "This pay rate increase aligns with our values and reflects a change that is above the current market practice for certain roles. We believe increasing our base compensation level for these entry level jobs is the right thing to do and is yet another way we are maintaining our commitment to doing what's right for our associates.”
Leaders across Nationwide are committed to ensuring a highly engaged and productive workforce because they recognize that the company’s ability to provide an On Your Side® service experience for members is driven by its associates.

“We are very pleased to lead in this important area of competitive pay. We are confident this change will have a significant and positive impact on our business and our associates,” said King. “We are also proud of the level of support we provide our associates to include our 401(k) plan with company match, a fully funded pension, educational tuition assistance, health and wellness benefits, and many others.”

Nationwide’s depth and breadth of businesses provides a wide range of jobs and career paths.  Half of all jobs at Nationwide are filled from within, and with low turnover rates Nationwide is a destination employer where many of its associates have built long-lasting careers.
