All 34,000 associates drive our culture, creating an environment where everyone is appreciated and respected. Their distinct perspectives and talents set us apart from other companies. Nationwide intentionally makes diversity and inclusion an integral part of how we do business. We’re proud to currently be on Fortune’s “100 Best Places to Work” list for the third year in a row, Fortune’s “50 Best Workplaces for Diversity” list, and to have received Gallup’s “Great Workplace Award” every year since 2012.
“Nationwide encourages involvement in work teams, Associate Resource Groups (ARGs), and as volunteers in the community to a great degree. Whether it’s participating in decisions affecting work or finding fellow associates with the same interests or backgrounds, Nationwide celebrates diversity of thought and being like very few places I have seen.” – Nationwide associate
Associate Resource Groups & Business Unit Councils
Our Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) and Business Unit Councils (BUCs) help associates find meaningful ways to connect with one another, moving our diversity and inclusion strategy forward. Nationwide’s ARGs allow our associates to network and be part of a group that matters to them. Our ARGs are comprised of a wide variety of groups that any associate can be part of based on their individual interests, such as LGBT, women, veterans and the disabled. These groups develop leadership skills, volunteer at community events, and recommend and/or implement creative ideas to enhance business performance.
Likewise, our 16 Business Unit Councils are structured across our many locations to ensure that diversity and inclusion has a broad geographical reach and is sustained in those areas.
