James B. Bachmann is a board member of Nationwide, one of the largest and strongest diversified insurance and financial services organizations in the U.S. He was elected to the Nationwide board in 2003.
A longtime business and community leader, Mr. Bachmann retired as managing partner for Ernst & Young’s Columbus location in 2003, where he led the office for 11 years. Prior to that, he served in Ernst & Young’s New York office as well as the firm’s Cleveland, Toledo and Akron offices.
Mr. Bachmann also served in leadership positions at the Columbus Museum of Art, the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce board, the de Tocqueville campaign for United Way, the Ohio Business Roundtable board, The Ohio State University Hospital board and numerous community fund-raising committees. He is an Honorary Trustee of the Columbus Museum of Art.
Born in Akron, Ohio, he holds a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University and served as an officer in the U.S. Army. Mr. Bachmann lives in New Albany, Ohio.
