Lydia M. Marshall was the founder, chair and chief executive officer of Versura Inc. of Washington, DC, the education loan exchange, serving in those capacities from 1999 to 2004.
Marshall was elected to the Nationwide board in 2001.
She is board chair of the Public Welfare Foundation. Marshall is a former director of Seagate Technology, which she served as lead independent director; and former board chair of CARE International, chair of CARE USA, and chair of Washington Performing Arts.
She served as managing director of Rockport Capital, Inc. from 1997 to 1999. Marshall was executive vice president of Sallie Mae and headed various divisions from 1985 to 1997, and was a vice president of Citicorp from 1977 to 1985.
