Debra Griffin

Current Role

Debra has been with Nationwide for 14 years and is currently the Vice President of Nationwide’s Securities Backed Lending organization. In this role, she serves as the President of SBL, LLC leading the effort to offer wealth clients beneficial solutions for lending products as a source of financing and liquidity.

Experience, Background and Awards

Previously, Debra held the position of Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for Nationwide Bank and has extensive experience in the financial services industry through former executive leadership roles with PNC Bank and National City Bank.

Debra has received numerous awards for her work in the banking industry including: Outstanding African American Woman in Financial Services by the Urban Bankers Association and one of Ohio’s Most Powerful and Influential Women by the Ohio Diversity Council. Debra currently serves on the board of trustees and finance committee for CAPA (Columbus Association for the Performing Arts), and on the board of trustees, finance committee, and human resources committee for The Center for Healthy Families. She is an active and proud member of both the All Women’s and AWARE, the African American Women’s Associate Resource Groups.

Education, Certifications and Designations

Debra received her Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University and completed her graduate studies at the University of Virginia.
