Nationwide Indexed UL Accumulator III is an individual index-linked universal life insurance contract that offers life insurance protection and the potential for cash value accumulation. When their policy is issued, your clients can put their initial premium, including 1035 exchanges, into a fixed interest strategy and have it systematically transferred into their chosen index strategies over the first 12 months:

This helps to lower their risk of investing at a high point

We’ll pay a higher fixed interest rate — currently 8% — that is locked in for 1 year

Performance Lock Feature
Performance Lock Feature

This will help your clients keep their index gains and perhaps worry less about the impact that market volatility can have:

Prior to beginning their index segment, they’ll choose a target Performance Lock Percentage

If the index gains reach or surpass that percentage at market close, we’ll use the index value for that day as their ending value for the year

Important to remember:

The true ending value for the index segment could be lower or higher than their locked-in value

If the index segment never reaches their Performance Lock Percentage, we’ll use the true ending value

We’ll still credit the interest to their cash value at the end of the segment, regardless of when the value locks in

The Performance Lock Percentage is based on the index’s raw performance, and all other interest crediting parameters, such as the participation rate, spread and floor percentage, will factor in after the chosen percentage

Nationwide Indexed UL Accumulator III offers a variety of riders to allow your clients to customize their coverage:

Adjusted Premium Charge Rider: To help improve early-year cash value, this spreads the first-year premium charge over 10 years and is ideal for large 1035 exchanges or significant first-year premiums.

Change of Insured Rider: This gives an employer the opportunity to change the insured on a corporate-owned policy.

Guaranteed Interest Accumulated Value Feature: This is automatically included and offers a 2% guaranteed cash value growth rate upon surrender or death.

Living access benefits: These are available to your clients and give them access to their death benefit early if they’re diagnosed with a chronic illness, a critical illness or a terminal illness.

Long-Term Care Rider II: This rider allows clients to access their death benefit early in order to pay for qualifying long-term care expenses.

Overloan Lapse Protection Rider II: If your clients take extensive loans from their policy, this option helps to protect it from lapsing.

Surrender Value Enhancement Rider: This optional benefit is used to waive all or part of the surrender charges on premiums paid in the early years of the policy.

Waiver of Monthly Deductions Rider: If clients become disabled, this optional benefit waives all monthly deductions.

Waiver of Premium Rider: This optional benefit credits a monthly premium to the policy if clients become disabled.
