Syed Rizvi, Vice President
Syed Rizvi (Rizvi) is Vice President/Chief Specialty Insurance Officer for Nationwide, responsible for Nationwide's Innovative Solutions portfolio, including Nationwide Employee Benefits. Rizvi joined Nationwide in 2007 as Vice President, Enterprise Performance Management and Analysis (EPM&A) reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Nationwide in 2007, Rizvi was Vice President of Finance for Victoria's Secret at Limited Brands and was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company. Rizvi holds a Master of Business Administration from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business and a master's degree in engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo.
Jennifer Martinez, Associate Vice President
Jennifer (Jen) Martinez is Associate Vice President, leading all aspects of Strategy and Operations for Nationwide Employee Benefits. Jen joined Nationwide in 2013 with 12 years of experience in economic development, international trade and manufacturing. Jen was named Corporate Executive of the Year in 2013 and was awarded 40 Under 40 by the San Antonio Business Journal. Jen recently completed executive education at MIT's Sloan School of Business, holds an MBA from Pinchot University in Seattle, and a BBA in International Business from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
David Hurley, Director of Sales
David Hurley leads the national sales team for Nationwide Employee Benefits. He has over 25 years of experience in the group insurance industry at Cigna, Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Delta Dental. For the past 10 years he has been a sales leader at Delta Dental of Massachusetts and Delta Dental of Arizona. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Business Administration from Suffolk University in Boston.
Sue Reinhard, Director of Underwriting and Operations
Susan (Sue) Reinhard assumed a leadership role with Nationwide Employee Benefits in January 2013 after the acquisition of the Harleysville Insurance Companies. Her career with Harleysville Life Insurance Company spanned more than 25 years where she held positions in operations, sales, business development and underwriting. She holds industry designations of Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, Group Benefits Associate and Retirement Plans Associate – employee benefit programs sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefits.
Lisa Kohls-Orr, Director of Product
Lisa Kohls-Orr manages product development and policy fulfillment for Nationwide Employee Benefits. Lisa joined the Nationwide team in 2008 and has more than 25 years of insurance industry experience. She has held positions in Underwriting and Actuarial with a focus on employer group ancillary products. Prior to joining Nationwide, she worked for Anthem, John Alden and Physician’s Health Plan. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Capital University.
Sophia Shen, Director of Business Development
Sophia Shen leads business development and strategic partnership relations for Nationwide Employee Benefits. Sophia joined Nationwide in 2010 and has held various roles in marketing strategy and relationship management for Nationwide Financial as well as Property & Casualty business units. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kelley School of Business from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University.
Sarah Penikas, Director of Business Project Management
Sarah Penikas leads projects and process/system enhancements for Nationwide Employee Benefits. Sarah holds an Associateship in the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining Nationwide, she worked for Mercer, a global consulting firm.
Brian Doran, Director of Marketing
Brian Doran leads marketing and branding for Nationwide Employee Benefits. Brian joined Nationwide in 2010 and has more than 15 years of experience in the employee benefits industry. Brian holds a Bachelor's degree in social science from from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from Franklin University.
