Commercial water mitigation solution
Water damage is a leading cause of property damage losses. When a leak goes unnoticed it can cause extreme damage leading to costly repairs, lengthy restoration, and operational shutdowns or relocations. Fortunately, most water damage is preventable when appropriate measures are in place. Reducing these losses takes a multiprong approach with a water damage mitigation program.
Nationwide has a customizable Water Mitigation Program (WMP) that is designed to be a guide to help building owners and occupants of all sizes create a customized plan to protect facilities, assets, and integrity from the impact of water damage.
One critical component of a complete program is early detection. Nationwide has partnered with Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) to provide a solution aimed at protecting your business from preventable water damage through early notification of water leaks. Identifying water leaks early and taking swift action to address them could turn a massive claim into a simple mop up job.
By placing spot sensors throughout the building, targeting water supply sources and high value locations, this solution can give early warning of potential water damage. Once water is sensed by the devices the location manager is provided with the location of the leak via text message, app notification, or phone call in minutes. This early notification provides the necessary time for the leak to be identified and stopped, averting costly losses and shutdowns.
The sensor solution can be customized for both large campuses and single location buildings. The sensors communicate with each other through a specialty LoRaWAN network and to the secured cloud via a cellular gateway device, leaving your wi-fi network untouched.
Nationwide is offering this solution to select customers as a service and free of charge. The solution includes sensors, professional installation, and monitoring. Nationwide is offering this no-cost solution because we believe that prevention and protection is a better option than repairing and replacing.
