Safety professionals recognize the need for ongoing driver safety education and awareness. After all, auto accidents are the number one cause of work-related fatalities in the U.S., making up 25% of all worker deaths.[1] Additionally, liability from auto accidents is one of the largest and most frequent risks an organization faces.  Finding fresh content to share with drivers regularly is not easy. To assist you in your efforts Nationwide has put together a timely schedule of infographics and online training. Topics are geared toward light to medium size vehicles/trucks.

Infographics

Infographics are flexible and can be used as:
  • A resource for group training and toolbox talks
  • A guide for one-on-one discussions and behind the wheel coaching
  • Post-accident training
  • An awareness poster
  • An email attachment to reinforce safe driving messages to staff.

Online training

  • Courses are less than 15 minutes in length
  • Each course has 10 questions. A certificate of completion (COC) is generated if 80% correct
  • Email the course link to drivers and ask them to print and return the COC
  • Learn more about our online and group training resources

Topics marked with an asterisk (*) are considered the most critical topics that should be covered annually with all drivers. All training should be documented.

Additional training topics, including those for heavy vehicles, can be found on the Driver Training Topics tab of our website. Review our Driver Safety Training article for an overview of effective driver training methods and additional resources.
