Laying foundations for tomorrow

For nearly a century, Nationwide has turned challenges into opportunities.

Sustainability is in our roots. Our commitment to fairness began with farmers. Burdened by high insurance rates designed for urban drivers, they inspired us to create solutions that meet the needs of the agricultural community.

Today, as a leader in insurance and financial services, Nationwide remains true to its roots. Our corporate sustainability strategy reflects our ongoing efforts to make a positive impact at work, for our customers and in our communities.

Innovation fueled by emerging talent

Nationwide attracts talent by partnering with organizations dedicated to developing high school and college students and young professionals. These partnerships bring fresh ideas and perspectives that drive our company’s innovation.

Real-time community support

Nationwide has a long tradition of serving its communities by aligning with organizations that focus on helping people, communities and the environment during times of need. We provide timely support through giving and volunteerism.

Strategic partnerships and programs

Collaboration fuels big impacts. From protecting children’s health and well-being to supporting our communities and the agriculture industry, we’re driving change where it matters most.

Ethics and governance

We are guided by our values, making ethical decisions that serve our customers’ best interests. We earn trust and ensure long-term success by upholding integrity and accountability in everything we do.

Creating change through extraordinary care

Since 2000, the Nationwide Foundation has invested more than $700 million in nonprofits, delivering care where it’s needed most. In 2024, we continued this legacy with initiatives that addressed critical community needs and created lasting impacts.

Standing with veterans

Nationwide and the Nationwide Foundation honored veterans in many ways in 2024, including Nationwide's sponsorship of the Veterans Honor Flight Columbus, Nationwide and Nationwide Foundation contributions to the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, and Nationwide Foundation's support to the Adaptive Sports Complex in Central Ohio, which offers therapy, fitness and other programming for veterans and people with disabilities.

Infusing wellness into the workplace

The Nationwide office in Scottsdale, Arizona is a Blue Zone Approved Worksite, embracing the Blue Zone Project’s proven strategies for longevity, health and happiness. Rooted in over 20 years of research, this initiative transforms community environments to make healthy choices simple. Our culture of wellbeing aligns perfectly with this mission, supporting our efforts of promoting healthier, happier lives for all.

Advancing sickle cell awareness

The Nationwide Foundation supports the American Red Cross’ sickle cell initiative with $750,000 in funding since 2022, expanding outreach, education and in-depth testing.

Bringing play to every child

Every year, hundreds of children and their families rely on the YWCA Family Center in Columbus, Ohio, for emergency shelter and essential services. Recently, the Nationwide Foundation partnered with the Family Center to create a brand-new, multi-use playground. This enhanced space gives every child the opportunity to play and exercise safely, fostering moments of joy and connection during challenging times.
