Scottsdale, Arizona – a vibrant and picturesque part of the Phoenix metro area – is one of the West’s modern boom towns. Incorporated in 1951, Scottsdale now boasts a population of about 230,000 (growing quickly), and offers an exciting lifestyle with lots of amenities. It was also the home of Scottsdale Insurance, which is now part of the Nationwide family. And that legacy continues with our ongoing career opportunities in the “Valley of the Sun.”

Community involvement

Nationwide is a leading contributor to the Scottsdale community and has partnerships with several local organizations, including:

  • Valley of the Sun United Way, which supports more than 100 nonprofit organizations in the Phoenix area.
  • St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance – The Nationwide Foundation provided a $1 million grant for capital improvements and to expand the food bank’s cold storage
  • Community outreach events such as angel trees and basic needs collection drives

In addition, our Scottsdale associates contributed $414,000 through our annual United Way Campaign, raised 118,746 meals for St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance and gave 700 units of blood last year, and 14 of our leaders served on local nonprofit boards.
