Nationwide associates are enthusiastic about making a difference. Each year, a significant number of our associates across the U.S. donate to important causes and charities through our associate giving programs.

Nationwide Cares Campaign

At Nationwide, we believe that caring is at the heart of everything we do. The Nationwide Cares Campaign is a celebration of compassion and the power of giving. Few companies can match the enthusiasm and generosity of Nationwiders in giving back to their communities. Associates can donate to any 501(c)(3) they are passionate about, any time of the year. And, the Nationwide Foundation matches their contributions dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of their giving. In 2024, our associates contributed over $7M to those in need.

Blood donation program

Nationwide partners with the American Red Cross and other blood service providers to help ensure an adequate blood supply across the United States. For more than 50 years, Nationwide has rewarded associates companywide with a half day of paid time off for each successful blood donation. Since 2000, associates donated more than 275,000 units through blood drives in nearly two dozen company locations or communities.

Associates Helping Associates

The Associates Helping Associates program is a way for our associates to support each other during times of extreme financial hardship resulting from a disaster or personal tragedy. Administered by a third-party nonprofit organization, the program provides financial assistance of up to $3,000 for food, shelter and other basic needs or up to $750 for basic living expenses. The Nationwide Foundation matches associate contributions to the fund, which has awarded more than $1 million to associates since 2013.
