Locked out of your home? It happens — and we’ll reimburse you up to $250 to gain re-entry.

We’ll reimburse you up to $250 for the services needed to gain entry into your residence if your key or electronic entry device has been lost, stolen, disabled, locked in your home or you changed the locks to prevent an unauthorized entry. Coverage is subject to the following conditions:

  • Original copies of receipts for services must be submitted before reimbursement is payable
  • No deductible applies to this coverage
  • Coverage is subject to all terms and conditions of the policy, except as changed by this endorsement

In the unfortunate event that your home is lost to fire, your deductible will be waived (up to $5,000).

In the event of a covered loss, you’ll receive a special deductible provision. Your policy deductible will be waived (up to $5,000) if we deem your residence a total fire loss. Coverage is subject to the following conditions:

  • No deductible applies to this coverage

If you must buy a new home because of a constructive total loss such as a fire, we’ll reimburse closing costs of up to $1,500 and increased monthly payments.

If a covered peril causes a “constructive total loss” to your residence and you have to obtain a new mortgage at a higher interest rate, we’ll reimburse you for the following expenses within 2 years of the loss date:

  • New mortgage acquisition costs — We’ll reimburse you up to $1,500 for standard and customary closing costs, fees and related expenses
  • Additional monthly mortgage expense — We’ll reimburse that part of the additional monthly mortgage expense on your replacement dwelling, which is due to a higher rate of interest for the same principal amount, based on the balance owed on the original mortgage at the time of the loss and for the same loan term
  • Payment under this coverage will be made semiannually when you provide proof that the mortgage for which payment under this coverage is being made remains in effect; our limit of liability should not exceed $300 per month for 3 years from the date of your first mortgage payment

Coverage is subject to the following conditions:

  • This coverage is additional insurance
  • No deductible applies to this coverage
  • With respect to Mortgage Protection Coverage only, the following definition is added: “Constructive total loss” means loss to the dwelling for which we have paid or agreed to pay an amount equal to 75% or more of the Coverage A – Dwelling limit of liability coverage shown in the Declarations
