The Nationwide High Point 365® Lifetime Income Rider with Purchase Payment Bonus (High Point 365 with Bonus) is an optional living benefit rider that can be added, for an additional cost, to a Nationwide New Heights® Fixed Indexed Annuity, if suitable.

High Point 365 with Bonus is only available at contract issue. In order to purchase this rider, you (and your spouse, if the joint option is chosen) must be 40 - 80 years old at contract issue.1

High Point 365 with Bonus is designed to offer the certainty of a guaranteed roll-up, as well as the opportunity for greater growth potential the longer you wait to initiate lifetime income2, while providing the flexibility to begin income after only one full contract year:

  • The rider offers instant growth of contract value through a Purchase Payment Bonus3 of 1% and of rider income benefit base through a Minimum Income Benefit Value Bonus of 10%
  • The income benefit base will grow by the greater of a 7% compound interest annual roll-up on your purchase payment plus minimum income benefit value bonus for 10 years or until the first lifetime withdrawal, whichever comes first OR a daily step-up feature on the income benefit base that captures the highest daily balanced allocation value4
  • Competitive payout percentages that increase the longer you wait to take lifetime income
  • A joint option for continuation of income to your spouse is also available. (Note: If joint option is elected at issue, the lifetime payout percentage is based on the younger life and will be lower.)

[1] For New Heights 12: Maximum issue age is 75 years (64 years in Florida).
[2] Lifetime income payments can begin after the first contract anniversary and the date that the youngest covered life reaches age 50. Once the contract is issued, the range of lifetime payout percentages applicable to the contract will not change; however, payout percentages increase within that range every year income is deferred until the maximum payout percentage is reached. Once the lifetime income payments begin, the payout percentage will not change.
[3] A partial withdrawal in excess of the free withdrawal amount (lifetime income under the rider qualify as free withdrawals) or contract surrender before the end of the CDSC (surrender charge) period, will receive the vested percentage of the purchase payment bonus as part of their surrender value. Each product has its own vesting schedule.

[4] The balanced allocation value monitors the daily fluctuations of your contract and is the greater of the contract value plus any unrealized earnings or the Return of Purchase Payment Guarantee amount.
