Sparky Weilnau is managing partner of Weilnau Family Farms LLC, which specializes in the production of popcorn, and president of George Weilnau Farm LLC. He was elected to the Nationwide Board of Directors in 2014.
Weilnau also served in a variety of leadership roles for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation — including trustee, treasurer and vice president — and as an Erie County commissioner, Milan Township trustee and chairman, and chairman of the Erie Regional Planning Commission. He is a member of the Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association, Ohio Soybean Association and Milan Chamber of Commerce. He earned the NACD Fellowship designation from the National Association of Corporate Directors in 2017.
Weilnau is active in the community, serving on the boards of groups such as the Milan Historical Museum, Citizenship and Education Foundation for Edison Schools, and as president of Serving our Seniors in Erie County. He is a former council member of the District 5 Natural Resource Assistance Council for Clean Ohio. Weilnau studied at several universities, the General Motors Institute, and is a graduate of The Ohio State University LEAD program.
